Year 9

Year 9 Families,

I hope this week’s update finds you well. As we approach the end of Term 1, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we are making a positive impact on their learning journey.

Important Announcements:

  • Term 1 is coming to a close:
Please note that there is not long left in Term 1; however, it is not over yet. As we enter the final two weeks of the term, we encourage all students to stay focused and give their best effort. This is the time to complete assignments, finalise outstanding assessments, and ensure all work is submitted on time. Every lesson and task matters, and how you end the term sets the tone for future success. Stay engaged, be responsible, and use this time wisely to review progress and improve where needed. Let’s show dedication, respect, and pride in our work. Keep pushing forward, support each other, and finish the term on a high note!
  • I know some students are beginning to feel rather tired and are finding it difficult to come to school on some days. Please encourage early bedtimes to allow sufficient rest so your child can attend school as much as possible. If your child has succumbed to illness, please call the office to notify and, where possible, provide us with a medical certificate to keep our records up to date.

Celebrations from the Week:

  • Egg-cellent Easter Egg Hunt: Congratulations to 9D for winning the 'Best Effort Challenge' during our Easter Egg Hunt! Nearly the entire class participated, showcasing their enthusiasm, teamwork, and, of course, their BEST EFFORT.
  • Year 9 Outdoor Education Camp: We are so proud of our Year 9 Outdoor Education Camp participants! Despite their tiredness on Friday afternoon, they demonstrated incredible commitment and gave their best effort during lessons after spending the night before in the bush and participating in hikes.
  • NAPLAN : Year 9 students have now completed their final NAPLAN tests. This marks the last time that students will be involved in these tests. The Year 9 teaching team was very impressed with the effort the entire grade put into these tests, despite the rude interruption of a fire alarm in the middle of the reading test! The students showed a level of maturity and managed to restart and successfully complete the test.

Additional Information:

As we move forward, please remember to encourage your child to stay engaged and focused as we approach the final weeks of the term. Your support at home is invaluable, and we appreciate your involvement in their education.

We are grateful for the strong partnerships we share with our families. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our students thrive. Together, we are creating a nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

Warm regards,

The Year 9 Teaching Team
